Custom Fields

Your online job application can be completely customized to the needs of your organization. Whether you need a lengthy job application with many questions and file uploads, or a simple form to capture just the basics, APPLICANTS™ has you covered. You can add 6 different types of input fields to your job application, and up to 100 custom fields in your preferred order. Adding and ordering a custom field is as choosing the type of field and entering a label. You also have differing options of customization depending on the type of field you're adding to your job application. See below for more information about each type of field.

Checkbox List

The checkbox list is ideal for giving your job applicants multiple options to choose from and allowing them to select multiple answers. Popular job application use cases include employment type (e.g., full time, part time, or seasonal) and level of experience (e.g., beginner, competent, expert, etc.).

File Attachment

The file upload is ideal for asking job applicants for their resume, portfolio, or other documents needed to assess their qualifications and experience. You can add multiple file attachments to your job application.

Radio List

Like the checkbox list, the radio list provides multiple options for applicants to choose from, however with the radio list they can only choose one option. Radio lists are perfect for asking yes or no questions, or longer lists like their highest level of education (e.g., high school, some college, etc.).

Select List

The select list is very similar to the radio list, however the list is presented in a much smaller profile. Use the select list custom field on your job application when there are a lot of options from which to choose.

Text

When you want your job applicants to type an answer to a question on your application, the text field is a great choice. Your job application already has standard fields like name and email address built-in, so you'll want to use the text field for questions like "How did you hear about us?" and "Why do you want to work here?".

Textarea

If your applicants need more space to answer a question, or provide a lengthy statement, then choose the textarea instead of the text field.

Drag & Drop

We make it easy to modify the order of the custom fields on your job application. Simply click (or tap and hold or mobile devices) on the handle next to the custom field you want to move, and drag up or down to your preferred position. Drag and drop changes are made in real-time when you release your mouse pointer (or finger on a mobile device). Just reload your job application to confirm the changes were made correctly.
